Do not risk your life while first aid

First aidAny work is done to save the life of an injured before getting a doctor or medical help is called first aid. Medical assistance cannot be found everywhere, nor is it possible. Because the accident can happen anywhere and at any time. There will be no hospital nor any doctor. The first aid of the injured in the accident has to be done by anyone present there. Like a policeman at the scene, or a common man. So that the victim's life can be saved. The immediate medical treatment given to the injured person is called first aid. Therefore it is very important for everyone to have knowledge of first aid. It saves the life of the injured person.

With the knowledge of first aid, we can help in such a way as to burn with fire, in a road accident, cut with a sharp weapon, drowned in water, allergy, heart attack, asthma, current Etc. etc.

Do not risk your life while doing first aid. The limit of primary treatment is as long as it is safe for us. It is very important to remember this thing always. We can help others only when we are safe.



Main objectives of first aid

early and appropriate first aid can reduce the severity of an injury or illness.  in extreme cases can mean the difference between life and death.

types of emergencies require different types of first aid techniques.
  • Preserve life,
  • Prevent illness or injury from getting worse, if there is bleeding,
  • give some relief from pain, as in case of fracture,
  • Promoting recovery,
  • Protect the unconscious,
  • to save a life, especially in case of poisoning.




First aid in minor cuts and wounds
  • wash hands your before giving first aid.
  • remove all the dirt (foreign particles) from the wound and clean the skin around it with pads of cotton soaked and antiseptic solution.
  • cover the wound with a clean cotton cloth.
  •  dressing to stop bleeding tie a bandage.

First aid in a deep cut or wounds 

  • A deep cut bleeds heavily necessary to stop the bleeding.
  • wash the wound with soap and clean water.
  • stop bleeding.
  • take a sterile gauze and it over the wound, then a tie with a bandage.
  •  To stop, bleeding raises the bleeding part higher than the rest body part.
  • See a doctor after first aid. If necessary, the wound is stitched. The doctor injects anti-tetanus to protect the injured person from tetanus.



First aid in nose bleeding

follow these steps in case of nose bleeding

  • When bleeding from the nose, bend the victim forward, pinch the nose for 10 to 20 minutes, allow breathe from the mouth.
  • Do not allow the victim to blow the nose.
  • For heavy bleeding, consult a doctor immediately.


First aid in bone Fracture

fractured -  bones may get broken or cracked is called a fracture. the sign of fracture are as follows 

  • Severe pain, victim unable to move the broken part.
  • swelling around the area that is the heart.
  • keep the patient calm.
  • call the ambulance immediately.
  • prevents movement of the broken bone.
  • Tie a splint around the fractured part.
  • do not allow the victim to move the fractured part.
  • the patient should be carried on a stretcher.
  • get an X-ray of the fractured part immediately.

First aid in Sprain

Sprain - sometimes joints get twisted. the tissues around the twisted joint get damaged. the joint swells up and is very painful.

  • use a piece of ice- pack on the sprain.
  • anti-inflammatory & pain relief ointment lightly on the sprained joint
  • a crepe bandage should be wrapped around the sprained joint to support the joint.
  • a sprained joint should not be moved so that it heals faster.

First aid  in Burns

Burns- damage to the skin and underlying tissue by heat. types of burns are fire burning, boiling water or milk burning, crackers, and chemicals burning. it is very painful. burns are two types

  1. minor burn,
  2. severe burn.

minor burn - keep the burnt area under cold running water. apply an antiseptic cream at the burnt part. this gives relief from the burning sensation.



Severe burns- 
 Take the patient to the doctor immediately. do this calm and reassure the victim. remove the rings, bracelets, watches, or any other constricting bands before the swelling worsens. submerge the burnt area in cold water. loosely cover the burnt part to prevent infection using a clean cloth or dressing. if there is a chemical burn, flush the affected area with clean water or saline until advanced help arrives. if the victim is not breathing, do CPR.



First aid in animal bites 

The saliva of animals like dogs, cats, monkeys, and wolves contain a virus. it is a very dangerous disease called rabies. 
It is necessary to treat animal bites.

  • Wash the wound with soap and water. it is away from germs.
  • Take the victim to the doctor immediately. a doctor gives the anti-rabies vaccine and tetanus- toxoid vaccine.

Snakebite - The poison spreads rapidly in the victim's body. Therefore, ask the aggrieved person to remain calm. Wash the wound with water. If the wound is bleeding, apply mild pressure on the wound. Do not suck blood from the wound, do not tie a tight cloth. Do not cut the wound nor try to remove the poison. Take the victim to the hospital. The doctor gives an anti-venom injection.
