Arunachal Pradesh 

Arunachal has become a State on February 20, 1987. Till 1972, it was known as the
North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA).

It becomes the Union Territory status on January 20, 1972, and renamed as Arunachal
Pradesh. The first general election to the Assembly was held in February 1978.

Goa was liberated from Portuguese rule in 1961. It was a part of the union territory of Goa,
Daman, and Diu till 30 May 1987.
