hemoglobin value below the normal range causes anemia and leukemias.

What is hemoglobin?

The red blood cells (RBC) also called erythrocytes. RBCs are circular or biconcave disc-shaped. And lacks a nucleus. Their red color is due to the presence of iron and protein compounds called hemoglobin.

Red blood cells are red due to the presence of a pigment called hemoglobin inside them. The hemoglobin present in red blood cells that carry oxygen in the body. Hemoglobin performs a very important function of carrying oxygen from the lungs to body tissues.  Haemoglobin also carries some of the carbon dioxides from body tissues to the lungs

The red blood cells have to be made quickly because they do not live for very long. Each red blood cell lives for about four months.red blood cells are made in the bone marrow every day.

Hemoglobin acts as the "oxygen -carrier"

Fact:

😀 "In human blood, more than two million red blood cells get destroyed every second, but they are replaced immediately by the new ones. in an adult human body, there are about 4.5 - 5 liters of blood."

😀 Hemoglobin is the red pigment of blood

😀 Hemoglobin composed of 96% globin and,

😀 Haem 4 % (the iron-containing pigment).

😀 Hemoglobin concentration is expressed in g %

😀 The normal range of haemoglobin:

😀 Male    :      15.5  +/- 2.5  g %,

😀 Female :     14    +/-  2.5  g %.

😀 Infants:      up to     18  g  %.

😀 The hemoglobin value below the normal range causes anemia and leukemias.

😀 Hemoglobin value rises above a normal range in dehydration and polycythemia.
