If the victim is conscious and can swallow, give oral rehydration solution (O R S) to the fluids and salts to drink according to the instructions on the packet. And do not use pre-mixed ORs that are preserved beyond 24 hours, do not add ice to cool the oral rehydration solution (O R S). If there is too much dehydration, do not use soda or fruit juice for rehydration.
