Herpes simplex is a collection of diseases.there are two main types of herpes simplex virus:

HSV-1 infection usually occurs area above the waist, whereas type -2 HSV-2 occurs below the waist. 

The viruses multiply rapidly in the nucleus of infected cells forming inclusion called Lipshutz bodies. the virus remains for a long period of time in the body. 

causing recurrent infections in spite of the presence of antibodies.the greek word herpes means to creep an indication of the spreading nature of diseases.

1. Type 1  : HSV-1,

1. Type-2  : HSV-2.

Symptoms:  

1. mouth sores,
2. fever,
3. swollen and tender lymph gland.

Causes: 

The Herpes simplex is caused by herpes simplex virus Type-1 HSV-1, Type-2: HSV-2.

In children :

In children, the manifests itself as cold sores or as a more serious condition, gingivostomatitis type 1 herpes simplex virus also induces a type of nonepidemic encephalitis in children. an infection of the brain. fever, headache, irritability, and confusion.

Seizures are common Herpes simplex type -2 often causes a mild form of meningitis that does not cause a long-term problem or brain damage.

symptoms are reported in children.

In adult:

Adults commonly suffer from a genital form of herpes simplex caused by HSV-2 and lesions develop on external genital organs of the male and internally along the vaginal wall and cervix in females. 

In case the transmission is by sexual contact. the child borne by an infected female may develop herpes encephalitis as the virus is transmitted from the vaginal fluid.as with the oral sores, someone with genital herpes may have repeated an outbreak over a lifetime.

There are very difficult eradication of herpes virus from the body but antiviral medication can reduce the frequency, duration, and complication.
