circulatory system- Some common terms that are used in the human circulatory system areas.



 ๐Ÿ’— Aorta 
 the largest artery of the human body that carries oxygenated blood (oxygen-rich blood) to all parts of the body.


๐Ÿ’— Arteries

 the blood vessels that carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart.


๐Ÿ’— Atria 

the two top chambers of the heart that receive blood from the body parts.


๐Ÿ’—Blood 

a red-colored liquid moving in arteries and veins.

๐Ÿ’— Blood clotting  

formation of a thick mass around a damaged tissue that prevents further bleeding.

๐Ÿ’—Capillaries 

the smallest vessels with very thin walls that connect veins and arteries to the different body parts.

๐Ÿ’— Circulation 

 the movement of the blood through the heart, arteries, veins, and capillaries to the different parts of the body called circulation.

the muscular organ that pumps blood throughout the body.


๐Ÿ’— Septum 

a thick muscular wall that separates the left and right part of the heart.

blood vessels that collect deoxygenated blood from different body parts.

the two chambers at the bottom of the heart that pump out blood from the heart to the lungs.

the liquid part of the blood called plasma.

oxygen-carrying blood (oxygen-rich blood ).


๐Ÿ’— Deoxygenated blood- since the blood loses the oxygen.


๐Ÿ’—heartbeat - one complete contraction and relaxation of the heart is called a heartbeat(70-72 times a minute normal adult).

the expansion of an artery each time the blood forced into it. (70-72 times a minute normal adult).it is equal to the heartbeat.

๐Ÿ’—blood pressure  

the pressure at which blood is pumped to the blood vessels.
